Belle’s Events is under new management, and owner and wedding photographer Sue Kwiatkowska plans to build on a celebratory start with vintage wedding fairs in both spring and autumn.

Belle’s Events was formed in 2011 after founder Kelly Wickson struggled to find the right platform to promote her vintage VW Beetle wedding car hire, and quickly attracted like-minded business owners including Sue to exhibit at alternative wedding fairs in Brighton and across Sussex.

Sue explains: “Living in Brighton you can’t help but be inspired by it’s cosmopolitan vibe and it’s thriving alternative scene and this is reflected in the type of weddings I like to shoot.”

“Exhibiting with Belle’s Events led to many bookings from fab couples planning amazing alternative weddings, so when the opportunity arose to take ownership I jumped at the chance.”

Quashing any big day jitters, Sue’s first Valentine’s fair was a success, attracting around 70 brides-to-be and a total 200 visitors to Worthing Dome and she’s expecting even bigger things from the next event at Brighton Dome on 16 April:

“Belle’s Events will continue to run the best alternative wedding fairs on the South Coast and it’s my ambition to see our flagship, hometown fair in Brighton become the ‘must exhibit at’ event for our unique and fabulous tribe of Southern-based suppliers”, she says.

“We’ll also run smaller boutique fairs in Worthing and Eastbourne in the autumn to promote some truly unusual Sussex venues oozing vintage charm and historic features. Belle’s champions small and creative wedding businesses who are passionate about what they do and the service they offer.”

Among the exhibitors already signed up are Doris Loves and their light-up letters and temporary tattoo station, Bunston Bakes who create delicate and delightful cakes, and This Modern Love – designers of bohemian and romantic bridalwear.

“I want both couples and exhibitors who attend our fairs to have a really enjoyable experience and a nice day out” Sue says. “Wedding planning should be fun!”
