Crafty Creatives – Laura Ralph Designs

10 November 2015 No Comment

Laura Ralph creates one-off separates and two-piece outfits from vintage fabrics. Here she tells us why we can count on her for unique fashion that fits.

Why should people check out your work?

I’m very proud of the fact that 90% of the fabrics I use are vintage fabrics, which I buy myself from various sources. Recycling in this way keeps the beautiful designs alive and makes my clothing really exclusive. Customers can also choose a fabric and have a garment custom-made. I can alter the designs to suit individuals, for example one of my most loyal customers is petite and I make the trousers the perfect length for her.

Where do you show and sell your creations?

I sell my clothing online at www.lauraralph.com and also take orders through my Instagram (I’m @lauraralphdesigns) and Facebook page. Customers can contact me on lauraralphdesigns@hotmail.com too. I have sold at festivals for the last two summers in The Secret Emporium tent at Secret Garden Party, at Wilderness and Festival No.6 and have also had a stall at a small independent event called Brainchild Festival.

From 16 – 22 November I’ll be selling at Brighton pop-up shop PARADE at No Walls Gallery on Church Street, along with seven other amazing local designers.

What personal piece are you most proud of?

I’m really proud of my new long jacket collection for Autumn/Winter. It’s slightly different to anything else I’ve done and it requires different fabrics, which I’m really enjoying getting hold of. So far they’ve had a great response!

Do you collect anything?

Fabric! My fabric collection is ever-growing and is getting slightly out of control! I just can’t help myself! It’s what got me into this business really, it started off as a bit of a hobby whilst I was at University and just grew.

Do you have a website?

It’s www.lauraralph.com – there is a shop section and also an available fabrics section so customers can choose a fabric and email with their choice.
