Dollydagger model search – face of 2014
After the success of its 2012 model competition, Brighton-based retro fashion label Dollydagger is this month launching a search for its face of 2014, with a 12 month modelling contract up for grabs!
In 2012, the pin-up brand’s model competition attracted 118 entries, which were whittled down to 8 finalists and one winner – Brighton girl Hannah Carrick, who had no previous modelling experience. “Classically pretty, down to earth, with a great personality and a size 14 figure, Hannah was picked because she represented the Dollydagger brand perfectly,” says owner Emma Ayers.

The 2013 competition is free to enter and open to everyone over 18. The first round of voting will take place on Facebook, with the public choosing eight finalists who will each win prizes worth £50. The overall winner, who will take home a prize package worth £200 from each shoot, will be chosen by a panel of four judges consisting Hannah Carrick, Emma Ayres, manager of Dollydagger’s Brighton boutique Simon Flamson and Dollydagger photographer Toby Amies.

“We’re looking for girls with personality, their own sense of style and who have what it takes to be a photographic model and are not afraid of the camera” Emma explains. “You don’t have to be a size 8 and 6ft tall to enter, at Dollydagger we like real girls, with warm personalities and a sense of fun”.
