The Blackout Party comes to Chichester

22 July 2013 No Comment

Organisers of The Blackout Party are bringing their 1940s-themed party to Chichester to coincide with Goodwood Revival this September.

The Blackout Party

Over the evenings of 13 and 14 September, acts including Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists The Jive Aces!, jazz band The Zoltans and Elle & the Pocket Belles will provide entertainment on the main stage of Chichester’s The Venue, before the Blitz club night swings into action.

Seeing guests through the night in style will be Electro Swing DJ Mr Tunes, 1940s characters and swing dance lessons, with vintage stalls and hair stylists as on hand to help recreate that authentic 1940s look.

The Blackout Party

Heather Wensley started The Blackout Party in 2011 to combine elements of other vintage events she’d enjoyed. With over 500 people attending the event in Baskingstoke last year, set to a backdrop of a lifesize 1940s streetscape, Heather and her team are hosting two parties for 2013 to cater for increased demand.

“The 1940s theme is a passion of ours and has been for a few years”, she explains. “The team behind the Blackout Party have been to many events throughout the country and as well as enjoying the daytime events love the fun and escapism of the evening dos.

“The Blackout Parties combine a fun 1940s atmosphere and entertainment, which includes live music, with the more electric elements like burlesque and electro swing towards the end of the evening. We look forward to introducing more people to this exciting, emotional and scary time in our history, always with a fun twist!”
