In her new book Pearl Lowe’s Vintage Craft, the fashion and textiles designer shares her tips on how to transform your home into a vintage idyl. And we have a copy to give away courtesy of Crafty Magazine!

Pearl Lowe's Vintage Craft book

The beautiful hard-back book is divided into sections by room, with inspirational photography offering a glimpse inside Pearl’s eclectic home.

As well as tried and tested interior advice on how to bring together styles from the 1920s through to the 1950s, each section boasts step-by-step craft project guides that encourage the reader to get hands on. Among our favourites are the powder pink mini bathroom cabinet, wallpapered coffee table and ingenious ‘office in a wardrobe’.

Pearl also shares craft kit, sourcing and salvaging tips and opens her little black of shops and suppliers to help get you on the way to a DIY dream home.

My DIY dream would be finding the perfect wardrobe to take the back out of and place in front of a door-way! I’m dying to do this in a child’s bedroom to give the maximum Narnia effect!

Bought a gorgeous black monsoon dress from local charity shop last year. Have altered it to fit and added a few bespoke additions and now have a beautiful gatsby inspired dress. Feels great as I have a gorgeous dress and have helped prospect foundation.x

I would love to win a copy of this book as i’m currently a student living in a very dingey house and therefore I would love to be able to vamp up the house with some of Pearls’ great ideas! At the moment, i’m using floral wrapping paper, peal necklaces and fake flowers in gin bottles to try and give the boring and somewhat drab house a much more homely feel. Therefore it would be absolutely amazing to be able to win this book!

I recently found an old fashioned wooden set of step ladders and after hours for sanding and cleaning up I painted a lovely duck egg blue and placed on our patio with each step having its very own vintage plant pot which we found a batch of at a car boot.

I’d love this book! We are about to move house and need all thd inspiration we can get 🙂
    Beautiful website.

I am about to embark on painting a dresser and decorating my dining room so this book would definitely come in useful for some help with that! xo

I bought a 50s vanity set consisting of a matching hand mirror, a little stand, wind up clock , two jars and two candlesticks. Spent an hour with some brasso and they have become beautiful again. I’m using the candlesticks to hold my hair clips in.
